This paper reviews the applications of digitalization at all stages throughout the life cycle within the aerospace manufacturing processes. The authors have researched the global digital trends in the aircraft industry and proved their importance for enhancing the competitiveness of industry products. The trends in the digital development of the aerospace and aviation sectors in Ukraine were also studied and it was shown that despite the lag, Ukraine has good chances to become well known in the aviation environment and acquired reputation as a reliable partner and supplier of the products and services. The authors propose a system of instruments that would facilitate the adaptation of Ukrainian aerospace and aviation sectors to the digital challenges.
