The electric power supply system is one of the most important research areas within sustainable and energy-efficient aviation for more- and especially all-electric aircraft. There is a trend towards a more ecological alternative, which will ultimately mean strong electrification of aircraft. The first step is the so-called More Electric Aircraft (MEA), which will increase overall efficiency by replacing conventional solutions with electrically driven alternatives.
